Miller Pine Riding Academy

Elite level training and coaching
I am a riding instructor and trainer dedicated to developing skilled, confident riders and sound, capable horses through purposeful, performance-based training. My program is designed for those who want to move beyond basic lessons and step into a higher standard of horsemanship—where precision, feel, and true understanding define success.
At the core of my approach is a strong emphasis on biomechanics, functional anatomy, and progressive conditioning. Each session is thoughtfully structured to improve strength, balance, and correct movement patterns, supporting both rehabilitation and long-term injury prevention. Whether rebuilding a horse after injury or refining an already capable athlete, every program is tailored to the individual to ensure meaningful, lasting results.
Riders are developed alongside their horses, learning not just how to ride, but how to think, feel, and communicate at an advanced level. Through focused instruction and honest feedback, riders gain the tools, awareness, and discipline required to progress toward elite-level performance.
The result is a partnership built on correctness, confidence, and resilience—where both horse and rider are equipped to perform at their highest potential, with soundness and longevity at the forefront.

Horses need proper fitness to stay sound and prevent injury. Lesson horses—especially those working with beginners or children—still require correct, thoughtful riding to maintain their strength, balance, and overall well-being. Stanford, a 22-year-young Warmblood–Thoroughbred cross, is a great example of how consistent, gentle, and correct exercise can keep a horse happy, capable, and performing well. When horses are given the opportunity to move properly and build fitness, they can continue to thrive at any age. If your horse isn’t improving through their current program, it may be time to seek guidance from a knowledgeable coach or trainer who can help you support their long-term soundness and success.

What sets my program apart is the depth behind every decision. This is not guesswork or tradition-based training—it is a system built on science, experience, and a relentless focus on getting to the root of each issue.
With a degree in Human Kinesiology and advanced study in the Science of Motion under Jean Luc Cornille, my approach is grounded in a true understanding of how both horse and rider bodies function. I don’t just look at what is happening—I analyze why it’s happening, and build a plan that creates lasting, correct change.
My lifetime of riding and hands-on experience has developed an expert eye for subtle soundness issues, movement inefficiencies, and imbalances that are often overlooked. Rather than managing symptoms, I specialize in identifying and addressing the underlying causes, helping horses not only recover from injury but become stronger and more resilient than before.
Through balance-based fitness training rooted in the principles of biotensegrity, I develop horses as athletes—improving coordination, stability, and strength in a way that supports long-term soundness and performance. At the same time, riders are educated to understand and feel these changes, giving them the ability to ride with intention and precision.
For riders who are serious about improving, this offers something different: clarity, direction, and a level of detail that produces real results. Not shortcuts, not trends—but a thoughtful, proven approach that builds horses and riders capable of performing at an elite level, with longevity at the forefront.

Hoof Trimming
I specialize in rehabilitating horses’ hooves by applying a thorough understanding of hoof structure, function, and its connection to the entire body. My approach focuses on restoring balance, encouraging proper weight distribution, and supporting healthy hoof growth through correct trimming guidance, movement, and management practices. By addressing the root causes of imbalance or dysfunction, I help horses develop stronger, healthier hooves that contribute to overall soundness, improved movement, and long-term durability.

First Trim
With careful video and photo analysis, I can map the hoof and gradually begin to make positive changes in the foot.
This hoof is too small for the horse.

Progression
With careful photo analysis and hoof mapping with the TACT trim, the hoof issues begin to reverse themselves.

Rehabilitated
This foot is close to being fully rehabiltated! The difference is unbelieveable. It takes time, but it is worth it, taking away foot pain and discomfort in your horse!
