About Miller Pine Meadows — Biotensegrity-Based Horsemanship

About Us

At Miller Pine Meadows, horses and riders are developed through the principles of equine biotensegrity—where strength, soundness, and performance are cultivated through balance, from the inside out.

Penn — Before

Built on Balance

In this program, traditional riding instruction is exceeded through a program built on a deep understanding of how the horse's body functions and adapts, ensuring that every ride contributes to long-term soundness, correct movement, and sustainable performance.

Whether developing a young horse, refining a performance partner, or supporting rehabilitation, each program is guided by one fundamental principle: balance. It is the foundation of strength, coordination, and resilience—and the key to creating horses that not only perform, but remain sound in doing so.

Central to this approach is the development of appropriate fitness. Horses must build the necessary strength, muscle mass, and overall body condition to support the demands placed upon them. Without this foundation, the risk of injury increases. Through progressive, balance-based conditioning, horses are developed into well-prepared athletes capable of performing with durability and longevity.

Through this approach, training becomes purposeful and progressive, allowing both horse and rider to develop with clarity, confidence, and lasting results.

The Method

Biotensegrity-Based Training

A biotensegrity-based approach focuses on the whole horse, developing movement that supports a lifetime of soundness.

  • Improving whole-body coordination, not isolating parts
  • Developing functional strength—not a forced frame or posture
  • Encouraging self-carriage and balance
  • Allowing the horse to move in a way that supports long-term soundness
Before & After

Real Transformations

The slideshow features an OTTB (Off the Track Thoroughbred) named Princeton, rehabilitated using specialized biotensegrity training. Three techniques are used to train and rehabilitate: lunging, in-hand work, and a way of riding that differs significantly from what is traditionally taught. The difference in his fitness, body mass, and overall way of moving is remarkable.

Meet the Coach

Sarah Lindsay Miller

What sets my program apart is the depth behind every decision. This is not guesswork or tradition-based training—it is a system built on science, experience, and a relentless focus on getting to the root of each issue.

With a degree in Human Kinesiology and advanced study in the Science of Motion under Jean Luc Cornille, my approach is grounded in a true understanding of how both horse and rider bodies function. I don't just look at what is happening—I analyze why it's happening, and build a plan that creates lasting, correct change.

My lifetime of riding and hands-on experience has developed an expert eye for subtle soundness issues, movement inefficiencies, and imbalances that are often overlooked. Rather than managing symptoms, I specialize in identifying and addressing the underlying causes, helping horses not only recover from injury but become stronger and more resilient than before.

Through balance-based fitness training rooted in the principles of biotensegrity, I develop horses as athletes—improving coordination, stability, and strength in a way that supports long-term soundness and performance. At the same time, riders are educated to understand and feel these changes, giving them the ability to ride with intention and precision.

For riders who are serious about improving, this offers something different: clarity, direction, and a level of detail that produces real results. Not shortcuts, not trends—but a thoughtful, proven approach that builds horses and riders capable of performing at an elite level, with longevity at the forefront.
